Making a Tonebender mashup, need some second opinions

Hey all! I've got an interesting idea I can feel stirring around in what I think most people refer to as a "brain"

All jokes aside, I'm currently working on a MK II tonebender but I've got an idea. I've started out glancing over Ricky's NPN silicon version seen here:

In my research of silicon fuzzes, I stumbled across this rather cool fuzz from Schaller that is in the same vein as the Dallas model Fuzz Face. As a matter of fact, it's almost identical albeit a pair of capacitors and a 100K resistor in between the input and output stage. Right between Q1's collector and the base of Q2. That schematic can be viewed here:

Back to the tonebender though and my question. I want to combine the best of the two circuits. I love the overall character and high end sizzle the Tonebenders have, but I love how the Schaller has a bit more bass content and how it cleans up. I really like the general behavior of the "Intensity" knob. What would be the best way of going about this? Would snagging a pair of BC150 transistors and dropping them in Q2 and Q3 work? The drawing recommends low-medium gain NPNs and the BC150s float around 200hFE. I would of course bias them appropriately as well, but that's just a thought. I also plan on at least increasing the 4.7uF feedback shunt capacitor by the "attack" knob up to 22uF like what's in the Schaller fuzz, but I'm not sure about that either. And dropping the feedback resistor to R4? There's a lot that can be changed, but my confusion is how different component values will behave in different circuits. I'm unsure of what would be worth changing to find a compromise between these two pedals.
