This is an interesting topic, I am interested to hear about new components or modern analogs of old transistors and operational amplifiers.
When I go to the DIY forms, I see the same thing, searching for ancient components and asking questions about outdated circuits.
Novice pedal builders (like some guys in their boutique firms) are like characters in post-apocalypse films, when the remnants of people use the technologies of a more advanced ancient civilization, but they themselves cannot produce anything due to the decline of knowledge and technology.

On another forum, some guy preached that "he had read" that all chips are digital.
