Can I remove voltage doubler?

Hi folks,
I'm going to build the JHS Twin Twelve on vero.

I'd like to build it without the MAX1044 since I don't have any  but I do have an 18v power supply.

I suspect it's  dead simple but I can't  figure it out... :icon_redface:

Yes you can do that.  It would be MUCH easier to figure out with an actual schematic.  The voltage doubler circuit is more than just the MAX1044.

You can just chop off the top four rows, so losing the chip, the electrolytic cap and the two diodes on those rows. There is a "double link" where a ground connection is taken from m12 to h12 (keep this!) but you don't need the second jumper from h12 to c12. You can then connect the 18v wire from your power jack socket directly to what was previously hole e1.
