400 USD is the most i have ever spent on a pedal.

I think I spent $300 on an Akai Deep Impact Bass Synth.  Imagine my surprise when a few years later it had been discontinued and was now sought after.  Sold it for $500!

Later on someone cloned it.

Now I have a Boss SY-1... works for the few times I need something like that.  Tracks chords too.

I traded a parts strat for an original TS808.  I can't remember how much I had in the strat, but the shop sold it for $500.  I sold the 808 a little later on ebay, at auction it went for $511.  Other than that, maybe only a few times over $100 for a pedal.

Boss CE-1 Chorus for $400.

Even that seems like a deal to me, actually.

75$ + 25$ import tax (which I forgot) for a TS9.

Yup, 100$ which was a miscalculation. Never spent more on a pedal.

Second would be 75$ for an Ibanez FZ7 (which I did not like eventually), 65$ on a JHF1 Fuzz Face and 50$ for a Blues Driver.
except for the Fuzz Face, all were dumped again...
This means I roughly keep the cheapest.

DIY Bass

I bought a Boss GT-6B for about $600.  Basically I had an old Ibanez Analog Delay pedal lying around that I never used so I decided to sell it.  I was trying to raise enough to buy a bass chorus of some type. Was truly, truly surprised at how much people were willing to pay for it and decided to spoil myself.

£75 for a Vox V810 many years ago when they were first introduced. A year later they were being sold off at £15 at a trade show. Decided to pick up a few as I left but forgot ::)

Last bought a new pedal a year ago. Mini Klon clone for £15. Sounds great

Other than that, I only build my own which of course is really cheap. Honest dear...

$195 for my strobe tuner.  It's about the only kind of pedal that I'm willing to spend real money on and not willing to build. However, I have built a few pedals that cost me more than $200 in parts.

I think I spent about $250 to get a a Kong G5 bass synth pedal. It was awesome, but I only kept it a couple years because I wasn't playing much back then.

Other than that maybe $90 for a boss delay I still use some. I've only ever bought a couple pedals.

Wait.... do my Roland G-505/GR-300 or G-707/GR-700 guitar synths count? I paid $500 for the former in 1988, and $1000 for the latter in 2016.

The most money I've spent on a pedal is BRL 990 for a modded version of a Darkglass B7K from a local builder. Custom made for me, booteek style. For comparison, an original Darkglass is BRL 4500+

The most expensive off-the-shelf pedal I have is an used Mesa Boogie V Twin that I got for BRL 900.

The other pedals I bought are things I cannot easily build: Tuner, digital reverb, phaser.

Probably a € 100 for a Meistersinger (chorus) from jacques stompboxes, bought many years ago.
Besides a tuner, this is the only non-diy stompbox on my pedalboard today.

For a marketed pedal, about $300 for a Line 6 DL4 - before I became an analog snob.

For DIY, probably around $120USD.

For other DIY builds (not pedals), well over $1500 for a single project.
