Thnx again for The link, good reading but too short. Never really bought any vh records except think I had one c cassette in The car. A schoolmate was a footballer that looked bit like young Dave had few albums introduced me for more. Feel so lucky got my Peavey amp collection raised up before they might go up in value. Never saw vh live but even decent copieS are good imho. 5150 amp has bad clean sound so they say.

Total innovator and DIY master! If it doesn't do what you want get out the screw driver and chisel away!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that early on he felt the tapping was a secret innovation and he'd turn his back to the audience when he did it.

Clever yes RIP, but I can't listen to his playing which to me often sounds a mess. Give me Boston, Steve Morse any day.

Part of the content of this article is also found in (taken from?) the great interview that took place about 5 years ago (organized by the Zocalo Public Square).
Listening to Eddie takes all this information to another level. People should just watch it to realize what a great and good person this man was.

That idea in the top post would be good for someone playing lap steel who wanted to play standing up.

QuoteSteve Morse any day.
Saw Steve Morse live around 1994, with Dave LaRue and Van Romaine (?).   Really impressive, we were all blown away.

I was blown away by Paul Gilbert, the man is clinical in his shredding ..most disappointing was zz top/skynard which I thought would be a guitar show but was more like pop concert

I would rate a prime gibbons over evh although I do consider them different styles but that tres hombre album is one of the best of all time ...1973 ,,someone down in texas was using pic harmonics long before a certain band debuted  juss saying

I live in north euope in the middle of nowhere and year 1972 my friend had a modified tele bought from local guitar hero, it had Gibson humbuckers and Jumbo frets so this was common mod in Europe back then.

Saw Morse with Purple two years ago, damn I was not able to see Suzi Quatro and Dave Hill and Slade at same arena earlier. There is pic of Eddie on Ritchie Blackmore webpage just now, strat with bridge humbucker butchered in, maybe it has stock strat vintage tremolo
