alternative for 1n5245v

Hi all.   I've got a fender footswitch that has a burned out 1n5245v diode.   Is there a common alternative i could use in its place?   I have loads here from building pedals, but no real idea as to what is compatable with what.

It may be a 15V 500mW 5% Zener.

The mechanical package is probably more critical than the electric specs.
