hi guys, i made a pcb for the fv-1 where i used the amz add 2 eeproms option.

http://www.muzique.com/news/adding-memory-to-the-fv-1-reverb/

however, i wanted a way of still using the internal sounds too using an on/off/on toggle switch.  as i'm a greedy piggy....this is where i am, but im not getting the internal sounds when the toggle is in the centre position, just clean...

i also added a header for programming the eeproms too.

mick , ice 9 , gave me a few tips, (cheers man) but i think i must have screwed up...which is most likely. :icon_rolleyes:

can this be done using the centre position of the on/off/on spdt toggle?......

mick was saying about grounding pin 13 to get the internal sounds??? so does that mean i need another switch
from pin 13 to ground?...cheers guys, im a noob with the fv-1... ::)

looks like i have to uses another switch then from pin 13 to ground for internal sounds too.......

just tested it works, thanks mick.  :)

This should work with the ON-OFF-ON toggle switch, try it on breadboard to see if it works as it should.

wow, thanks jack, that is absolutely awesome of you adding this to your site . thanks very much man..... 8) 8) 8)

i,ll give this a whirl....

edit: switch ordered, will let you know how i get on.   thanks guys.  8)

update:  well i made my pcb with the 3 way dpdt , and it still doesn't have the 'internal' fv-1 sounds on centre position,  just the 2 x eeproms

so it all works, apart from that....hmmmm, did i miss something?.

What's the voltage on T0 when the switch is open?  There's another resistor that goes off the top of the page that could influence that line depending on what the other end goes to.

hi larry, its 0.17v when in centre / 3.47 either side.

that other resistor is a 10k that goes to pin 6 of the fv1...to 3.3v   as in previous schemo above.

Remove R7, the T0 pullup.
Are you sure the voltage readings are correct? 3.47V with 3.3V supply?
R7 + R27 keeps the T0 at VDD/2 when open (mid position) or at VDD 3.3V when the switch is closed. Most likely is the VDD/2 still read as logic 1 ->  FV1 gets the firmware from the EEPROM.

hi, yep, im getting 3.45 from my 3.3. v regulator.

i just put that down to tolerance...hmmm..

ok i,ll snip off R7 at one end to test.....

update:  yay removing R7 works.....brilliant, cheers man your a star.... 8) 8) 8)

update 2 : and a real bonus is that now i can select banks without having to click the rotary to force the bank change like i had to before....excellent...uber cool, so happy.  8) 8) 8) 8)

cheers guys.  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Yeah man, thanks to you guys.....i still have to test the programming header, i have 2 blank eeproms i can try.... 8)

To program the EEPROMs you will have to have the switch set to the EEPROM you want to program and all should work ;) I presume you are using the Pickit2

Hi mick, yeah im using pickit2,   i have my switch left for eeprom A  right for B.

Ill knock up a couple of crude banks to test,

Then i can finally box it up......i added a simple one pot hi cut tone control on the fv1 output side too, as some octave, shimmverbs can get a little fizzy.....and its nice for darker verbs too...

hi guys, update:  just programmed the A/B eeproms....works great.

just flip the switch, and upload the hex file without adjusting anything....yay...

now to build the bugger... dreading cutting/filing the slot for the pickit header...but hey. worth it in the end.  8) 8) 8)
