Tone City Model M troubleshooting help?

Looking for advice with troubleshooting this Tone City Model M. I'll do my best to describe the issue. Any help much appreciated!


Makes a high pitch static/interference noise when engaged, but only after striking a chord. When I turn the effect off, it's quiet. Turn it back on, it's quiet. Hit a chord, then mute the strings, the noise is there until I turn it off again.

I emailed the company last week. No answer. Can't return the pedal, bought it used. I'm a diy noob and figured I could identify the problem and correct it. Just wasn't expecting to see the surface mounted components.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same pedal, love the way it sounds, but its squealing constantly
