My Clapton strat was stock with very low output Lace Sensor pickups. I installed VN well before they added them to the new stock model.

The problem is VN's at the sweet spot overload the Clapton boost input horribly. I gigged with it for 25 years with the pups buried just fine but notice the clarity loss playing at home.

I assume Fender modified something when they switched.

Any suggestions on how to reduce input to the boost without messing with tone (impedance?)?

Don't see the delete button. It was as easy as I was tired when posting this. The buffer was over-driving the amplifier section and the vol is between the two so... Vol down just a sliver or resistor adjustment if really ambitious some day. Gota wonder if it's all Clapton strats or if I simply had an unlucky tolerance. Fender is known for +/- 200K :D

Very nasty buffer, indeed... :icon_redface:
