Hi All, sorry if this is the wrong place feel free to move this post or tell me where to put it. I've been working on the Dead End FX Laika (spaceman sputnik) for a while now, pics attached below, build doc here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t9UkjtPVxwSyIMK1RBP7tvHhX9SKaRui/view.

Initially, I got a sound that just sounded like it was completely voltage starved, but at least all the leds were working and there was sound coming through. I reflowed some solder joints - there are admittedly some pretty ugly ones in there - and reconnected the power, input and output. Now I get no sound at all and no led indicators. What's weird is I tried tracing the circuit and hit what seems like a problem right at q1 (BS250 mosfet), I'm reading 8.83 at the Drain and 0.56 at the Source pin. I've reflowed, checked the pinout, used an xacto knife between the joints and legs, but keep getting that reading. Everything after it checked at random reads around .4-.4v. This is supposed to be a bs250, and since they don't make those anymore I had a bs250p in its place. This is the only thing I can think of that may be the problem, since I've triple checked everything else. I tried re-flowing it enough times that I eventually damaged it, so that part has been removed. If anyone can recommend a good sub or ID another potential trouble spot, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

The fact that there is no LED indicates something bone-simple that needs to be addressed before you go around poking and blaming innocent transistors!

"Why no LED" is a good problem-solving exercise. What kind of voltages at the switch? Ground good? (continuity all places that should be ground.) You're getting voltage to the board, so you haven't completely shorted out power. No sound at all suggests switch also. Those things don't like resoldering though!

Putting a pin on this thread, I can't believe it but I think I had q1 backwards. BS250p has a different pinout than the bs250.
