What does Bin and Bout on the circuit represent ?

Do you know what you're doing?

That's for Booster in and Booster Out. It's connected to the boost footswitch.

Only low input impedance circuits. Another paradox: guitar circuits should have high input impedance, unless when you want a low one  :icon_mrgreen:

Input impedance of BOR is about 250K.

Would you call that low or medium for the purposes of studying effect of volume control on clipping ?

And I don't think the gain depends upon impedance of the guitar.

So why do people claim that it cleans up spectacularly well with guitar volume control ?

250K is relatively high. Definitely with single coils. "Mid" impedance I'ld say is like Big Muff or a Tonebender mkIII.

The clean up is I think about the fact it has a nice onset of clipping which means rollign back volume does not change the tone from clipped to abrupt clean.
But it definitely comes with a larger portion of knob turn than with a Fuzz Face for example.

I will post the clipping curves soon,

But I initially feel that this might not be answer too. I had entered BOR into spice few months ago and I don't remember gentle start of clipping

The gain of the total circuit is very high.
The product of soft onset rail clippers will be harder, yet with very low input it is again a question of scale
