Tubescreamer with buffer and blend circuit.

Hi, I'm building a mildly modded TS and am going to include a buffered blend circuit to mix in some clean signal with the distorted signal. As the blend circuit has buffered send and return for the effect and clean, I'm wondering if this makes the transistor in and out buffers on the TS redundant, and I should therefore leave them out?
