Madbean Ping, but stereo

Hey folks.

A friend of a friend has asked me to build a big, "ethereal" stereo reverb. I'm leaning towards the Madbean ping circuit, which is mono out. I think I could figure out how to adapt the output section for stereo, but I have a question regarding the input pin of the Belton reverb unit. The schematic for a basic stereo configuration on the datasheet shows two separate input signals summed and sent to an op amp buffer stage then into the input of the brick. I was wondering how important this detail was? Could I use the already existing mono input that is part of the Madbean Ping. BTDR-3 Datasheet and Ping layout linked below.

It's only important for maintaining the existing stereo signal at the input, for example from a stereo delay or chorus unit. The summed signal is sent to the reverb input, but the original left and right are kept as is and delivered to the left and right output along with the blended reverb signal.
