Carbon copy help

Hi all, sorry if this isn't allowed as it isn't technically a build question but if any one can help it's you guys
I've got a used carbon copy and when the mod function is engaged there's a ticking, the speed of the ticking varies with the internal modulation trimmers. Does anyone know of a quick fix?
