EQD Palisades independent boost mod?

A coworker asked me to do a mod to his EQD Palisades making the boost independent from the rest of the circuit. Since it's got relay bypass, I recognize that could get rather complicated. Does anyone have ideas on how to do this? Is it even worth messing with it?

Hi & Welcome.. :icon_wink:

A schematic (not layout) should be enlightening..

If I got you right, you wish to use MPSA13 boost circuit as an independent booster, with or without connecting its input to MPSA18 buffer output..

Are the footswitches on a pcb or attached with wires? Just asking in terms of physical ease.
Now you have two footwsitches, one bypasses both circuits, the other adds the booster in. What you want is two separate bypass arrangements in series.
Are you clear how (these kind of) bypass switches work? Two poles plus one for LED...

Thanks for the schematic! That does help. Sounds like I just need to move the bypass switch to before the boost. The foot switches are soft touch SPST (I think) that control the relays. They're connected with wires.

If you have relays, then the wires to the switches will stay...
and the "traces" on the pcb leading to the relays will have to cut and wires added from convenient components.

That does make sense. Thanks for the help!
