So here I go into tube la la land with my first tube project, converting a tube PA amp for guitar.
Now I live in this old apartment that does not have upgraded grounded AC.
They installed a GFI tripping thing at the start of the circuit (20amps) if it sees voltages on ground, so thats the protection I have.

I will be using a isolation transformer/variac so I'm all good, I was just wondering if I missed any details on this AC setup.

Could you plz show trhe way you intend to utilize it..??

I have not built yet,
Basically it would be a suitable transfo fed by the mains and then that into a 2.5 amp variac.
Without the ground connected at the output.
I realize this is a touchy subject as for the danger of playing with these things.
I just want a heads up on details I have not seen.
I am watching many videos on how to build one, seems strait forward ..

I presume you're talking about something like below:

P.S.
Plz Mario, unless you really know what you're doing, don't do it..!! :icon_wink:

Something like that yes.
Thanks for the warning.
I'm reading much, I mean everyone has a first time, thanks.
I just finished building a capacitor discharge wand, on to the current limiter.

Some areas in Europe to this day don't have dedicated ground line so everything is "grounded' to the neutral (0-line) without any problems. That applies for tube amps as well.

I may assure you there are A LOT of problems in such a wiring configuration.. :icon_wink:
