Not really a diy pedal question, but I picked up an ibanez mini ts the other day, and the input jacks they use stick out like 1/2" on both sides. Was wondering if anyone found this annoying as well and changed the jacks for ones that are more 'flush mounted' with the enclosure. If anyone has recommendations for replacement jacks, I'd like to know what you used or recommend. The jacks are staggered on the board so idk why they opted for ones that stick out so far.

It looks pretty tricky from this gut shot:

Lumberg jacks are about the smallest/tidiest I know for jobs like this, but you'd have to wire them to the board.

This would likely still stick out a fair bit, unless you added some padding on the inside to bring it further into the enclosure - assuming that's possible with the space available.

Thanks for the lead on the input jacks, I ordered some switches I needed too. I'll update this thread with the results.

Rather that replace them, could you not cut the excess off?

Plugs will stick-out the same.

Unless it is only about going in the gig bag, not pedalboard space.

All u need is 5 minutes of time, an axle grinder with a thin disc, a steady hand and a metal file to smooth the edges.

According to the water analogy of electricity, transistor leakage is caused by holes.

Shortening the existing jacks won't work, the plug still connects at the same depth. Anyhow I pulled the board out and it looks like there's an extra ground lug on each jack, and the positive and ground have a capacitor between them. Smd components and I don't know what the purpose of the caps is, and I don't wanna brick the pedal. Any insight as to what the function of these caps are? It looks like the trace is just between those two leads from the jack and don't appear to go anywhere else.

A normally-closed connection, perhaps? That's pretty typical, so you can use the jack to route signals somewhere when nothing is plugged in (a "normalled" connection).

You mean across the power and ground? That's typical too - it's usually a simple RC lowpass filter on the power coming into the pedal to help keep power-related noise down.
