I recently assembled an Aion FX Azimuth pedal kit. Everything seemed to be working properly except I don't hear any difference when turning the "Gain" control. It sounds like it's at level 10 always. I have watched and listened to several Youtube videos demonstrating the Zendrive pedal and mine sounds nothing like the videos. It's basically unusable at this point. I did have some problems with the build. I misread the drawing and mounted the potentiometers in the wrong place and tried to install the main board upside down. I'm really not a stupid person but I had a hard time orienting the board from the drawing. As a result I had to desolder the pots from the board which almost could not be done. The PCB is the worst for wear as I had to use a lot of heat and force to remove the pots. Frankly I had little expectation that the pedal would even work at this point. If anyone has any suggestions to correct this problem short of buying another kit and starting over I would appreciate the help. I'm really disappointed in the kit and myself. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi & Welcome.. :icon_wink:

You should made our lifes easier if you've posted a link of your kit..

And, of course, pics-pics-pics and voltages..

Welcome!

+1 agree some pictures of your build would help.

The first thing to say is that I very much doubt that it's unrecoverable, so don't worry! With a bit of TLC, you can get it fixed up and running nicely. Ok, maybe it'll have a few scars and tales to tell, but unless you take the lid off, no-one need ever know, right?!? ;)

Very likely you broke a trace from the gain pot. You need to use a meter on continuity setting, (power off to the circuit) and verify:
if pin 2 is connected to the 1k resistor
pin 1 is connected to pin 1 of the IC
pin 3 is connected to the other end of the 1k, and pin 2 of the IC (along with a lot of other things.)
