Although it should be a P.M. response, I post it in public 'cause it might be another person puzzled with particular fuzz-octave/pitch non-working build.. :icon_wink:

It's just a PCB trace "elementary" flaw - R7 should go to Q1 Base instead of Emitter..
(like R13 does..)

P.S.
Unless Q5 configuration is also traced wrongly, output stage exhibits an interesting(*) asymmetrical clipping..
(4.9V for signal negative input and only 500mV for positive one..)
(*) in the mean of CE amp of -almost- unity gain implementation..

That R7 mistake was actually corrected in the original trace thread. I would go by the deadendfx schematic if building this, the drawing is better too.
And just for the confused people that might search this with the search engine : Gomorrah (1M, 2R)  :icon_lol:

When you switch the mode control to the lower position, how stable is this design?  Amplifiers cascaded in this manner can become multivibrators if the bias conditions are correct.  This can become a square wave generator which gives a large difference in the output.  I have not calculated the voltages in both states, so I was wondering if you had.

Krystal

I for one haven't calculated diddly squat but there is definitely a difference in output when you operate the switch. You can hear it in the video above.

I assume it is supposed to be unstable, to make the octave-down shimmy.
