Hi Folks,

For the first in about 7 years, I fired up the Dead Astronaut's X-FUZZ.

WOW, how good does it sound? I had forgotten how good it is.

If you haven't built it, do yourself a favour. You can't go wrong. 8)

Do you have schematics?

Deadastro's X-Fuzz seems to be v2 now. OP tempted me so I just ordered the official pcb.

Support the author, makes for an error free easy build and other excuses for my laziness

Was the V2 schematic ever posted?

The X-Fuzz II build docs on Rob's website don't appear to show a schematic?  Earth calling astro!!

I did my own vero layout so the schematic must have been around at some point.

Oh, the joys of forgetting...

There's an X Fuzz thread on here somewhere...

I have a number of schematics in my stash, but they don't mention a version number (and I don't recall them being the same).  As Kevin says, there's Rob's thread hiding somewhere..

Edit: it's here.

I found a PCB laxout on web that looks like this, so people have a rough idea what we are takking about.

It is a BMP stage 1 and 2. The gain has been moved to the front. I remember i had a faulty cap in stage 3 of my BMP clone, and it sounded really well and very loud. It was basically this plus amp stage plus tone stack and recovery. This one doesn't have that extra amp stage but it has LEDs that led the signal pass strong.

Just built my xfuzz 2. OP is right - it's very very nice

Robs pcb so only one mistake - forgot to connect the output Jack to the switch :icon_redface:

Trying to decide which LED's I prefer. Only have 3mm and my current preference is white.

Measure the voltage drop across the LEDs. That is what makes the difference. You can combine different values for asymmetrical clipping.

^ voltage drop? Spoilsport.

Not whether the colour matches my eyes then  ;)

I secretly do the same thing.
