Boss NS-2 mods?

I'm looking for interesting mods for this pedal.

It's a noise gate - what are you trying to change? Does it do its job or not?

I don't know if this sort of noise gate can be adjusted for a slow attack, volume-swell type effect - from a look at the schematic it's beyond me.

Well, thats the point.

I'm just kind of looking for inspiration.

It's basic but there is definitely room for sound improvements, maybe attack and decay adjustments. I figured while I'm at it maybe others have had success with more daring ideas.
