Partially passive DI/splitter?

I've got a ton of parts lying around and I've been thinking about splitting my clean signal straight off the guitar so I can re-amp it later with my pickup simulator (courtesy of AMZ). But I'd prefer not to put a buffer into pedals like my Fuzz Face.

Is it possible to "tap" my signal with, say, a noninverting opamp at high enough input impedance, and use that to drive the output to my audio interface? Without changing the character of the guitar into the fuzz face too much?

I suppose this could just be a passive splitter + a DI box...why didn't I think of that sooner...hm

I'm not familiar with DI boxes at all, just guitar stuff so far.

Isn't that what the pickup simulator is for? That's going to "change the character of the guitar" anyway. A typical reamp box is just a DI used in reverse (with questionable utility IMO).
