Hello all,
I built this Klon Centaur https://guitar-electronics.eu/en_US/p/file/ff9622715e0f4a19587b6ca77130c382/klon-centaur-ENG.pdf
Bypassed signal is ok, but when I engage the pedal, tere is no guitar sound just noise as if there is a shortcut to the ground. I've checked every connection, diodes, capacitors except ICs, resolder everything, no success. Regulated power supply 9V after i turn pedal on it drops to 1.44V

here are measures:
U1:               U2:            U3
1: 1,44              1,18          1,84
2: 1,44              1,20          0,38
3: 1,10              1,19          0,01
4: 0                 0,19          0,14
5: 1,19              1,19          0,18
6: 1,22              1,17          1,12
7: 1,40              1,16          0,91
8: 1,84              1,34          1,83

Diodes :
D1: A:0V    K: 0V
D2: A:0V    K: 0V
D3: A:1,64  K: 1,31
D4: A:1,82  K: 1,63
D5: A:1,83  K: 1,63

I put in both new TL072, the result is the same. The only thing left is ICL7660S which I don't have a spare one. So i took it out and these are the voltages i get:
U1:            U2:            U3 socket pins:
1: 6,10           7,48           9,05
2: 6,10           6,12           voltage slowly dropping to 0,88V
3: 5,33           6,08            0
4: 0              6,61           voltage slowly dropping to 0,88V
5: 6,10           8,08           6,61
6: 6,13           7,49            0
7: 6,33           6,55            0
8: 9,05           6,07            9,05

D1:  A:0     K: 0,02
D2:  A:0,02  K: 0
D3:  A:8,58  K: 8,09
D4: 0        k: 9,05
D5: 9,05     K:8,58

Any help appriciated,
thanks

welcome to the forum, dummysfx.

we don't know what you've done wrong either, but if you post us some photos of your build, so we can see colour bands and like that, and the solder side, and all the wiring offboard, we might find something.

sorry, your pics didn't load at the time ....
"Did I say that?"
"I'm not playing cards."
all tariffs now subject to a disrespect surcharge of 32%.

crane

please post pictures of your build.
i would give about 69% that your problem is outside the pcb - in wiring. may be you are using uninsulated DC jack? anyway - PICTURES NEEDED

crane

please also include dc jack and input/output sockets.

crane

also  - R25 and R23 should be both 27k.
in photo they seem to have color code that is not identical to each other. is that true?

R25 and R23 have the same color code: red/purple/black/red and tolerance brown
here are the pics:

With ICL7660S removed the noise is gone, so  i guess that the wiring is not problem

What is the voltage across D4 when your 7660 is out?

There is something funky going around the 7660. Check for shorts, and you'll likely need to replace it too.

crane

might be worse checking for short between pins 1 and 3 of unplugged 7660.
