I'm using 2.0.1Beta version of DIY Layout Creator for Mac. I have finished a couple of PCB layouts and I'm stuck as to how to proceed. I have traces & pads, components, and wires & switches all showing up in the same view. How do I render just the PCB so I can print it? I hope it's ok to not put this in the DIYLC sticky thread.

Look for and click on 'Render PNP' in the menu, top left.  ;)

I figured it should be something simple like that. Unfortunately that's not one of the options. :(

I have found a way to isolate the traces using the Lock Layers options.

At the top of the screen, click Lock Layers. Lock down the Traces, Pads, and Eyelets, and lock down the Circuit Boards.

Then, click and drag to select your whole circuit board. Because you locked the traces and board, they will not be selected. You can then drag all the components, wires, etc off to the side, leaving you with just the board.

You can then grab a screen shot and pull it into an image editor for printing. I use Photoshop. To get perfect scaling, I change the image resolution from 72 dpi to 160dpi, without resampling the image.

If you're not doing it for yourself, it's not DIY. ;)

I'll give that a try! Thanks!!

I have this problem, too, and use the same technique as Mike to get the PCB layout.

Out of curiosity, are the others who have this problem on a Mac? It seems some people have this "render" option, but others don't, and I wondered if it's a matter of the Mac version not being as up-to-date.

I use a Windows PC. The there was a render option on the original Windows version, I think.
