Is this scheme accurate?

i'd like to mod my diy d*d  250 clone.
anyone tried ?

Just socket the input cap and try different values till you find what you like. The different Opamp is a real problem cause it's a dual. Different pinout and stuff. I'd just build the 308 on it's own and have both, but I'm pedal crazy(I've boxed 20+ since March when I started, all this with a 40hr. day job and friday & saturday gigging & 2 kids, I'm nuts).

I just built the YJM308 per the schematic I saw posted here the other day. I ended up changing the input cap to 0.1uF (which probably could be 0.12-0.15uF IMO) and the cap at the output to a 1000pF silver mica. I think this combo sounds pretty good. I just laid mine out for a single opamp instead of using a dual opamp.

it depends on what you want the circuit to do.. if you want to use it as a stand alone dist.. then it will be too bright as it is.  but if you use it as he does as a booster and to tighten up the bottom end  then it will work fine as it is.

I have been averaging a project a week for about a year now. Not all of them are guitar effects circuits, but most of them are. I have built some stuff like audio oscillators, function generators, ultrasonic dog whistles, etc. I know what you mean by crazy, I have a 40 hr a week stressful engineering job (mechanical consulting in a very busy area for building), a 2 year old, one on the way and play every Sunday doing the church gig. I stay up too late most every weeknight and crash real hard on Sunday afternoons. This weekend I am completing three projects at the same time. I must be nutz. I think I'm getting in as much as I can before the baby comes! Oh, the life of an addict.  :?

Anyhow, Ansil has a good point. I am envisioning mine more as a stand alone distortion unit, so I have been tweaking it so it's not so bright. It's kind of hard for me to believe that Yngwie wants something so bright, Strats are kinda bright to begin with... and Marshall amps aren't terribly bassy. I guess I like more umph in my sound.

You know when you turn the volume all the way up & bring down the drive and use a Dist+ type pedal as an OD it's charactor changes completely and becomes much more bassy. You can even hear it on a little 386 type amp. An amazing transformation. YingYing only uses them this way, so he had one made that would get louder(not a 741 oa) and clearer(Si diodes and small value in cap) set up that way, if you know what I mean.

I finally got a position at my job with "engineer" in the title. Might finally be able to pay me bills for a change now.

Try the tonepad layout for the OD250 and make the changes from that.

Saludos Marcelo.
Fuzz boxes don't need on/off switch!!!!!!!!

as it has the same schematic as the dod overdirve 250 i don't understand why there are so much difference between dod 250 an yjm 308 resistor and caps values. it use a different opamp but i don't think it could explain that.

you can get a really close sound out of a dod250.. just use it the way he does.  it isn't going to give you the yngwie type sound on its own it is a tool or a building plot
