How exactly do you design a PCB based off of a schematic?

This is not an exact science, and not easily explained online.
RG's book is a very good resource - buy it, it's worth it.

thing is, I dont really want to produce my own PCB's, I just want to have a PCB layout of a certain schematic, and then have someone else make it for me.

That question is THE candidate for a Stompbox FAQ!  :-)

I never got to buying R.G.'s book, altho' everybody says it's a must.  If the time component of my life allows it, I'll sure get me this book. I mean, if eveybody is talking so much about it - if there is smoke, there must be fire as well... :-)

Anyway... this subject has been discussed zillion times by now:

If building the boards yourself or having someone else build them what you do with the PCB is kind of irrelvant. Your talking about the design of a PCB here. Analog PCB design CANNOT be summed up in one post. Some of what you will learn will come from experience.

The simplified answer is you make the connections showing in the schematic on PCB using traces. Use some common sense as to where you put parts and signal traces. After that is gets complicated.

We already have a couple of FAQs linked off the menu above plus the archives.
