Iam going to put this mar. style tone stack on the perf. board. Where would I be going out of and back into if I just wanted to splice it in. Also runoff groove mentioned using a pre-amp[with the tone stack] could any one [gary?] give me some specifics of what they had in mind. Maybe I didnt understand it correctly maybe they were talking about an active tone control.

hey man..  are you goin to use the tonestack for both channels..

pre or post eq. ie before or after od.  if before you need a gain booster to feed the eq.  if after nah don't worry about it plenty of juice..

check out the marshall guvnor tone stack it is pretty flexible.

the output of the treble pot is the output to the volume control.
the input of the eq.. is the treble cap and resistor junction.. right at the tip of the .0068cap.. or maybe .001 i dont' know what your values are. basically it is the top of the treble pot the cap that goes into it.

so how ya been.

Donald,

The preamp idea was to use the whole circuit as a preamp.  Build it into a box with a power supply.  Maybe something rackmount, if you are into that.

The tone stack could go any number of places.  If you want the tone stack to have a more drastic effect, place it after each channel of the DD.  Or as a master tone stack for both channels.  If that's what you want, place it infront of the output buffer.

If you want a more traditional amp-type feel to the tone stack, place the tone stack between the first and second inverter stage on one or both channels.

There are several ways you can wire it up.  I'm sure others will offer their views on what you should do.  I strongly recommend breadboarding before you commit, though.  Everyone's tastes are different.

Hope this helps.  Enjoy the DD!
