MOOSE! I have a dirtybird/rattlecro question.....

On your site it says:
"For the Q switch (sw4), I put a 2M7 resistor on the center pole of a SPDT, and 1M5 and 560K resistors on the outside throws."

But on the schematic those values are listed as:
470K, 1M, and 2M.
Which is correct or which will perform better or does it even matter?

Thanks!!!

Hi BillyJ

I built it after I finished the schematic and ended up liking slightly more than 2M for the maximum resistance setting in that spot. So, I used 2M7. You might want to try some different values, too, and see what you like.

Also, the way that switch is shown on the schematic would require a rotary switch. I decided to use a SPDT center-off switch instead, to save space. So, kind of like it says on my site... I put the 2M7 on the center pole of the switch. And, with the values that I used for the other two resistors, 1M5 and 560K, on the throws, the parallel resistance will approximately net out to the other two values shown on the schematic.

Cool.

Hmmm.. I have on on's...what is the difference?
Does the middle position not connect to a throw???
Confused on that one a bit....

Yep, an ON-OFF-ON is totally disconnected when at the center.

I end up using a fair amount of centre off SPDTs when circuit bending and moddng.
