It works great and sounds just like I remembered of the old ones.  I was was worried about the voltages at first, so I didn't want to put the BBD in straight away, but since I got signal to all the chips and sound through my amp with out it in, I went ahead and put it in to find a perfectly functioning unit!  The trimmers take a bit of time to get tweaked, but that's all part of the fun!

If anyone wants a great sounding flanger, then go to GGG and get all the info, it really is a fabulous unit, and my hat goes off to JD Sleep for all of his efforts and help, and making me a great board!!

I bet..congrads !!!
Those PCB boards sure are nice hey.
Im just Boxing up [last touches] a Small Stone and Ross Compressor, my first PCB ckts.
I had to add more heat where six leads and a large copper trace got a coldsolder that took me a day.6 to find, DMMing on beep mode tracing missions...lol
Well Werth every bit of the effort [once ya get the %&#J thing werkin perfict}...fohh..lol.. Got experience noww !!!
Safe to say I think it wouldda been easy, never wouldda perfed it...PCBoards the way to go.
I'm truly considering yo're suggestion about checking out the EH EM, I've never even had a quickie affair with an electric Mistress, couldn't even tell you where one sounds on a record or what one sounds like...no matter...all the more reason to see about it!

Well Pete, are you a Rush fan?  If so, listen to the end of "The Camera Eye" on the Moving Pictures album.. Perfect example of its coolness.  Of course, Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd used one as well. :)

Congratulations on your build! :D

Any pictures? ;)

Smallbear has the SAD1024, I know of no one else.  Also I recommend the "125c" box that he has @ $9.75, a good value. You need a big box for it.

Well Peter I must be 100% honest here. The blue  powder coat turned out great but the full decal I used, didn't turn out so well. :(  I'm going to have to media blast the box and start over!  It bubbled up like mad!    I'll post pics if I ever get it to look right!  At least it works electronically for now.

Awesome! Glad the voltages didn't do anything naughty!

There's nothing particularly scary about the voltages here. Apert from making sure that the power pins will receive the correct voltage, it's worth checking that the clock lines to the 1024 have the same voltage before you plug it in, otherwise it won't work.

I used to have one, loved its sound. Def. one of the best flangers ever made.
If I wanted to build one using an external wall-wart power supply, think I could squeeze it into a 1590BB? I'm using a danelectro 18V 150 ma power supply for my PT-80 project, and that delay only takes 35 ma or so, so I should have enough juice left over for the flanger, i'm hoping.

With the board available from JD you definitely couldn't fit it in a BB. His board is pretty much a direct knock off or very similar to the orignial, which, you may know had a transformer inside the box and full wave rectifier and filters on the main board. I'm sure it could definitely be shrunk, but the that's the only section I would eliminate.  I'm doing the charge pump thing, that way I can run it with my VL Pedal Power.
