I would like to know about your thoughts.

Joe Davisson

Usually I tweak circuits to taste, but I couldn't improve it. I can tell that Doug H. really worked on this to get it right. I liked it enough to make an extra-nice chassis for it, for whatever that's worth... It will provide a nice contrast to the my other pedals which are too high-strung for the blues :)

Seems like a nice pedal for smaller amps, after playing it through my old Fender Champ which is kinda tinny sounding. The rounded tone counteracts the smaller speaker/cabinet. Thanks Doug!

I built it,  and also fooled around w/values ( just for fun ).
could not "improve" it.
Mine sounds just like Doug's clip.  But I confess, I was really after
the lead tone on Gary's clip-  but it was nowhere to be found.
sigh.......
a worthy build,  and very simple.

Ed,

Turn the treble all the way up, bass mostly down.  Max the gain and use a neck HB pickup.  That's how I did the clip.

Doug H

I couldn't get Gary's lead tone either, but my neck pup is wired for single-coil right now. It does get close by pushing the treble high. I will try it with my other guitar that has a PAF neck pup and see.

In any case it wasn't really designed with that kind of sound in mind (although it is very cool that you can get it :D  :D ).

This is more of what I was after with this one (scroll to the bottom):

I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. :)

I was playing those MP3 clips for the Route 66 through XP Media Player, with the display set to "Scope". The real-time display of the waveforms gives a really good view of what is going on sonically in order to produce that sound - very instructive!

Anyone know where I can get a box shaped like a highway sign?   8)

You should buy a sign on ebay and fold it into a box. Now that would be cool.
