Oscillating Fuzz Face

My first FF sounds pretty good with trannies from Small Bear and the recommended parts but when I turn the guitar volume all the way down I have a nifty VFO. Turning the 'Fuzz' knob changes the frequency from a LFO rate at the full gain setting to about 500Hz or so at the midway point where it stops oscillating.

I'm not sure it's that big a problem but I'm guessing that the tranny bias is not right. Has anyone encountered this before?

All of my Ge FF's have done this. One of my clients considers it a feature.

The fuzz factory, which is mostly a fuzz face, oscillates via voltage starve/sagging (the stab knob).  I've never built one of these, though.

Well I can live with it. I'm finishing another one today and we'll see if that one does the same thing.

Then I can do it in stereo.
