I have a few chrome LED bezels from Small Bear, but I don't like the black plastic stops/caps that are placed on the LED to fit into them...they stay loose and don't keep the LED in the bezel housing very well.  Anybody know where I can get some of the rubber stops/plugs that make the LED fit snugly in the bezel housing?  Radio Shack bezels use them, but I'd have to buy the whole bezel from Radio Shack then, and the ones I have from Small Bear would just go to waste...

Hit it with a dab of hot glue. If the LED burns out - it's easy to grab the hardened "glue blob" with a pair of needle nose and pull it out.

Or - a dab of silicone will work as well - comes out even easier in event of a malfunction. Just doesn't dry as quickly as the hot glue...

My weapon of choice for that is Shoe-Goo, or Houshold Goop.  I think there are a bunch of those adhesives that are all the same.  With the silicon type products I think you have to watch for the vinegar type smell as that is the result of some acid that can corrode your parts.   Hot glue is cool if the gun heats up quick. Mine is too small.

I will try the hot glue option -- I've never done that before, though...is it something I can pick up at Home Depot?  What exactly should I look for (brand name?) in terms of the glue and the thing that applies it (a hyperdermic-type needle?  a very small glue gun?).

However, the bigger problem persists, namely, I want to use bezels in the future with the rubber plugs, but not the Radio Shack versions since they are too expensive.  Does Mouser/Digikey/Newark/etc. have bezels with rubber plugs?

you can get small hot glue guns with a few sticks of glue pretty cheap these days. most craft or art supply stores have them and even dollar stores. you don't have to buy an expensive one they all work the same but for this stuff generally smaller is better in my opinion, takes up less space in the drawer.
