If you look at my last few posts, you'll see that I'm in a "De-bugging"
stage on a few things ....  :D
The Kay Tremolo was made around two months ago and I could not for
the life of me - get it to work !!
I had done my own layout from the schem and added a "depth" pot by
hanging a 100k off one end of the 68k before the cap/resistor network
to Q4.
I had a strong "clean" signal but zero "trem" ..... until ......
.... coming back to a project after a frustrating time, when you just can't
see the "wood for the tree's" is a valuable lesson, i had connected that
cap resistor network to Q4 TOTALLY WRONG ! and had used a 33k to
the "speed" pot rather than a 33 ohm .... !!! DUH !
That was a head-slap moment !
Now its working fine and that depth mod is well worth the 2 minutes it takes to add it  :D

Happy Bunny once again..... now back to that Boss AC-2 .....

...... Sorry I didn't say much about how it sounds ! :
Its a great trem, not a soft "sine wave" but probably half way between
that and a "square wave" - bump ! ( it doesn't go "bump" BTW )
Its a strong and deep effect, I like it a LOT !!!
No noise and no " click click"  - so far ...

Cheers,
Marty.

There is one of those floating around Melbourne with a stencil of Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read on the box, and no labels. I built it for a friend and he painted it. His car got stolen and the pedal was in it. (luckily he had unpacked his amp 'n' axe). I think I built it from GGG and it was "modificated" for depth thats all I can remember about it at the mo'.
Sounded great, looked great, and, (as the stencil suggested) very choppy.
Shoot straight you bastards. Don't make a mess of it. -Last words of Breaker Morant

I like the Kay Trem, too. I replaced the 68K with a 1M pot for a depth control. Also, added a 56pF cap from the 33K/33K junction to ground to quiet it down even more. Used 2N5210 transistors. Kinda raunchy sounding. Nice one. 8)

Thank's for the tips Charlie :D
Before it was "fixed" it did produce quite a nice "raunch" - a bit of crunch
which is still present if you boost into it !!
I like this a lot, one of the better "trems" out there I think ..
