hey guys,(and gals)I was just thinking about this and I cant really come up with a conclusion I have a marshall AVT 275 2x12 combo and the preamp is driven by a 12AX7 but the amp power stage is solid state.

Is there any opinions as to how a fuzz face might perform?,or a booster circut for that matter, maby you could call this amp semi-solid state?

thanks in advance and your opinions are very much valued here. Mike.

well...as easy as fuzz faces are to build...I'd try a couple (maybe breadboard) and see if they perform or not.

To be honest, I haven't had any experience with FF, but I can assure you that most of my pedals sound (and behave) really different on several amps (marshalls valvestate, vs, jcm; fender and trace elliot)

good luck

Good fuzzface can sound good, be it solid state or tubes. It is good distortion, I.M.H.O.
