I received my OC81D's today from England-Worth the wait-I could not believe what a huge difference it made in the intensity and  clarity of my sound-If anyone desires any of these dinosaur eggs, I can ask my friend if anymore are available :D  :D  :D  :D

Out of curiosity, what do the OC81D's you have look like?  Are they TO-1 metal cans?

Thanks!

Jim

I wouldn't mind enough to build a tonebender. How much did they set you back?

Gstring

They are not the "tophat" style-these resemble little glass tubes-Price was $20.00 for 3 units

Gstring

NOT TO BOAST-BUT I COMPARED MY EFFECT AGAINST A YARDBOX, VOX TONEBENDER AND A SOLASOUND TONEBENDER AND HONESTLY THE GGG TYPE WHICH I BUILT IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THE UNITS I MENTIONED- :D  :D  :D NOT MY IMAGINATION EITHER AS WE A/B THEM AND HAD A CASUAL OBSERVER LISTEN AND THAT WAS THE OUTCOME

If you have the glass jobbies you have the good ones - congratulations! :)  The reason I ask is I bought some OC81's off ebay which were TO-1 metal ones and they really don't sound any better/different than the batch of 2SB173's I have.

Again, good score!
