The Super Octave on Mark Hammer's site (2nd page) looks like a great effect -octave up AND down!  It'd be class if it had the General Guitar Gadgets treatment with a Bill of Materials and clearer component layout since it's in Japanese.

IMO octave up is far more useful than the useual lower octave effect, but you rarely see dedicated octave up effects.

I built this two or three weeks ago. I haven't had much chance to play around with it but at least I'm getting sounds and all the controls have an effect.

What I'm not getting is consistant octave up and down sounds when the respective pots are turned up. More like distortion/ring mod type sounds with different characters. Someone else posted a while ago that he had built this more successfully so I'm guessing I just need to do a little troubleshooting. Good luck on your build if you try it.

hi,
i've succesfully built 2 superoctavers, and added the microsynth filter section to one of them...tracking is really good for my taste, also added a square wave mix knob

I've built a super octaver months ago, it features both octaves up and down but they are NOT clean, sort of a synth effect, expecially for the upper octave. Moreover, even if the upper octave knob is turned fully counterclockwise, I can slightly hear the upper octave.
If you decide to build one, tell me, I'll write you part substitution, and basic translation from japanese.
Regards.
