first capacitor value in Rangemaster on diystomp schem page

I recently bought a cheap kit for a Rangemaster clone with an OC44, I wanted to compare it to the OC71 version I made last year.
In the kit the first cap was 0.0068uF, rather than the usual 0.005uF/ 0.0047uF shown on other schematics. I assumed this was a mistake but then I noticed this schematics gives the value that came in the kit:

It sounds ok, but the higher value cap is a bit more mid-range-y than the first one I made. Was this a mod, or is there some disagreement over the value of the 1st cap. Anyone know? I'm thinking about changing it to a 0.0047...

0.0068 may sound the same as 0.0047 if the internal resistance of the transistors are quite different. I use a AC128 in my RM clone with input capacitance of 0.0057 (0.0047 in parallel with 0.001) and sounds very good to my ears. Try to socket some cap's and choose for your favorite sound.

Thanks.
I listened to them both carefully today and I think I'll leave it as it is for now, I wouldn't want two identical pedals anyway, would I? I'm too inept to do the resistor/bias adjustments though.

The bias adjustment is just a matter of reading the collector voltage and tweaking the resistor value to get it close to @7v. The input cap, according to what I've read from people who have inspected a number of original units, was .005, but it's really up to you to determine what value works best with your setup (single coils vs. HBs / dark dirty amp vs. bright clean amp, etc. ) . It's common to have this as switch selectable from say .0047, .0068, and .01.
