Hi,

wire it, so that you switch another Pot in Series with the GainPot.
and with the second switching you turn on the LED....

It work, but it doesnt sound very good, because, if you use a
TS808 Gainstage with a 500K Pot, the Gain do not raise very much.
It only compresses more.

I gone another way and took a 3PDT Switch.
With the first Switch Section i Added a 200K Resistor in Series with the
GainPot of the TS
With the second Switch Section i added a resistance from a 100KPot (Boost) between the LevelPot to 4.5V.
and the third Stage switches an LED.

The Effect is, that the Gain is pulled up with the Boost on, and
the Level jumps up.
For Solo Parts it makes much more sence, than only to use more Drive.

To raise the Drive in my version you can add a 500K TrimPot instead a
normal Resistor.

Are you talking about the one at GGG?  If so I drew it as the underside of the switch, the left side being for the LED.

It easier if you just solder the cap to the lugs of the switch (It should be a 10uf).

The center lug of the 250K pot goes to the middle lug of the switch, top lug of the switch goes to the 1M boost pot, and the bottom lug has a wire to the center of the boost pot then another wire from this same lug to the right side of the clipping section.

thanks... i've seen another schematic of this setup but it had 150pf cap on the 1 meg pot... do you think that would be nessicary? also what difference does the .33 cap vs the .22 cap in the tone section do? anything noticeable?... on more thing... do you know how the flat mids is achieved by the fulldrive 2? thanks....

That's from John Greene's Schematic he traced, which is a later version (orange enclosure).  It's necessary if you like the sound of it.  It's going to add some more treble to the boost which will make it seem a little louder.

It will make a difference, some say you get a better response from the overall tone control, but I have not tried it. The main thing would be to make sure that the pot is wired correctly.  If you don't get much response the first way you hook it up then swap the connections to the two outer lugs.

Jack and RG have extensive write-ups on this, as well as other options.  Check those out at AMZ and GEO.
