Does anyone can help me? I’ve made by JD project an Electric Mistress Deluxe and I can’t made it working  :(  I get no sound, I’ve tried different way, I’ve checked a lot of times component and replaced  most of them, I’ve check circuit PCB ETC and it’s all right but it goes on to be unworking.
Finally I’ve compared it with different schematic and I’ve applied the little different on my one…but nothing.
I’m desperate, I’ve shot  all my guns . The only strange thing I’ve noticed is that from the 7th pin of 4558 there is about 14V DC (very strange consider I’ve replaced it 5 times and consider that main voltage it’s 15.1V DC), and if I put a TL072 instead a 4558 the dry signal pass through circuit but not effect…..and on 7th pin I measured about 3V DC (it seems more correct than 4558 I think).
I hope someone can help me….I WANT to hear its sound… I’ve worked very harder and spent a lot of money and time   .
Thank you

I got 6.3 vdc on pins 5, 6 & 7 of 1458 with b+ at 14.8. What's your quad amp a lm324? I tried a 3403 or a 4741 once and it didn't work with anything but the lm324. I know there was a discrepency between some parts values on some schematics and the one I used is the one that's marked H. Davis -1977and looks harder to read. Hope this helps. Joe

George,if you use the right ic`s and the rest is good i wonder if you are overlooking something in the wiring.Pots,switch.in/out?

Dear Ed, I wonder too, but is what happens, about wiring I still haven't connected bypass switch until it will work  :P and the others wiring like pots and matrix switch I've checked them many many times  as the whole components of course.
Joe, I put in all right Ics 324 too (also it replaced at least 3 times), the voltages you got seems right (obv your one's working) my doubt  is about 4558 that replacing it with an MC4558 it doesn't work at all, and putting an RC4558 (which they'd be the same???) I can hear a little of sound modulated dirty and without dry signal, if I put an TL072 I can hear only dry sound :?: so according to me, maybe I have to find a good selection of RC4558 :?:  :?: unfortunately in my zone I have problem to find some RC I've got just 2 ones
Thanks for helping let me know and sorry for my bad english.

This isn't the Pope's revenge on you for trying to enter the Vatican this summer wearing shorts! (as I did). It's worth checking that there are no solder bridges between the PCB tracks before you go much further.
better to be in bad taste than to taste bad

sad1024

I hope so  anyway I don't want entering with shorts........I don't want enter at all!!
as I wrote I've checked all many times including bad erroneus bridge on PCB and bad solder.
I wonder, but after two discontinouos month of checking   I raise white flag, and I hope that any gentle-soul can show me the right way
what about what I wrote on IC RC4558 can be the solution????

Thank you to all for reply

Are you sure you are turning the right trimmers?
I spent a whole evening debugging mine while i turned the trimmers meanwhile neglecting the most important one.
Did you use a NOS SAD1024?
Ed

sad1024

Yes, I've tried in all ways even if I've followed procedure of adjusting.
What do you mean "NOS" I use an SAD1024A as my user name.

Thanks Ed
