Anyone know where to buy these?  I want to try them in my FF clone.

Thanks much,  Matt.

Good luck Matt!! You are engaging in a life long quest. They are nearly impossible to find.

GOOOOOOOOOD luck Matt.... I went on a frantic search for these months ago because i was crazy about getting all origional-style parts for a fuzz face clone. Dont want to discourage you, but they are damn near impossible to find :?  However, you can find fantastic germanium transistors at small bear for reasonable prices! What would we all do without small bear...... Good luck with your build!

P.S.: if you are absolutely nuts about getting a NKT275 FF, look up analogman. I've never done business with him *yet* :D , but i heard his service is great.

Here is his FF page:

P.S.S.:We both live in Orange County! Where do you live?

Right on.  Disappointing, but at least I know.

Thanks fellows.

ya, you also have to get 'em in the "Magic" gains of 70-85 for Q1 and 120-140 for Q2

tough...

IMHO...

I think that it's not important if you use the NKT or AC128 or AC122 or even OC44 (these are much more easily found and are somewhat cheaper), all off these transistors will give you about the same tone (got two FF clones with different transistors and yes they sound a little different but i wonder if you could tell me which got what transistor in it).

it's not easy to admit but these are pretty bad quality parts all in all so get what steve from small bear gives you because that will sound good at least.

if you want the NKT i have a german provider that got tons of them and i guess you could try and buy some from him. if you want me to look up his email just drop me a line at flic@bezeqint.net

the NTE158 is a replacement for the 275 - but they vary wildly... and in typical NTE fashion, they're kinda pricey.  And due to the variances, you'll have to get a bunch and hope for the best.

I have them in my FF - I built 2.. one sucked, one rocks.. dumb luck.

Better off getting a matched pair from Steve.
