Hi i built the mxr noise gate this summer using the old Fransisco's pcb layout, because i didn't know that he published a new one. It's the one with the wrong oriented jfet. I fixed the board and i used 741's and later TL071's just for test. It works but it doesn't mute immediately the output at all sensitivity settings. When the sound is at the threshold it mutes the sound for 1/100 of a second then demute for 1/100 of a second and then it mutes completely, if you understand what i mean. This is very annoying most of the times. I used many types of fets but there wasn't any improvements in this only different sensitivity. Does anybody have simmiral experiences or someone has something to suggest? Thanks in advance.

I thinks it's gating. Maybe you misbiased something?
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

If you haven't used a 741 make sure you read the notes about adding a cap in Francisco's pdf.
