I want to make the craig anderson mixer but switch the high impeadance

also there is a site with the art work for replacement ic's for craig anderson effects, does any one know what site that is?

vangalen63

thanks for the reply. it really helps. also there was another site that had the pcb layout artwork for all the parts, have you every ran across somthing like that? again thanks for the reply!

never mind i found it. thanks

im still trying to figure out how to change the high impeadance unbalanced input jacks, to low impeadance balanced jacks on the craig anderson mixer, does anybody know how to do this, and do you have to modify any of the circuit to swap input jack.

You have two choices (in principle)

A) Add an active stage, done with opamps or discrete components or some special i.c.´s

B) Make it with balanced-to-unbalanced transformer.

How bout Googling some mixer shematics? Do you want it take only line-level signals or microphones? Or both?

you know i am thinking of another away around this. i want to build the pre amp in front of the mixer, can you add a balanced input to that?

Who'se work you're tryin to refer to is spelled "Anderton"...for the record...I always used to get those two mixed up

Its craig anderton, never bothered to look and see what his actual name was lol! that last site was a good one but i still think i will try adding a balanced input to the pre-amp, can you do that somehow? i was checking out the mixer on that last site and started to get a headache. im not quite there yet as far as building more complicated stuff.

thanks!

I´ll see what I can do later this evening, I must look my EPFM book, I dont exactly remember the original schem. The printed circuit board need to be changed or additional or different parts must be added on something else, maybe on perf or striboard. If you want only line level signal input I think it could be done with one opamp. Maybe one present (it used dual or quad opamp if I can remember). On that nice Australian site and that link there is propably a suitable circuit which could be adapted for, maybe some component chances are needed. Did you notice balanced/unbalanced driver/receiver projects there? Basic theory and design tips :D can be found there

cool thanks, actually the mixer in the book states it will do both line and low level, I was going to use the pre-amp from the project book for mic inputs and then just and a a bypass switch for the line level inputs. i dont know if it will work but i am going to give it a try. I checked out that other site and somewhat was able to follow it. at least now i know you need to use a transrormer or some other means to adapt a balanced jack.

thanks alot!
