Hiss And Radio

Hey all,
I was making a basic booster on breadboard, and got a little radio interence. So i put a 470pf cap to ground after the input cap, and it almost diminished. Almost, coz when i turn up my amp, it creeps in again. And as i turn the volume down again, i notice the constant hiss that the pedals i bought seem to extinquish. How can i get rid of this hiss/radio???

Add say a 1k resistor in series with the input, between the input socket and the circuit input.  Leave your 470pF cap in and connect it to the circuit input side.

I believe your noise problem is because your circuit is on breadboard.  There's little to no shielding, especially if you used unshielded wire to connect your in and out jacks to your circuit.  This happens to me all the time, so I never make a final judgement of how a circuit sounds when it's on breadboard.  I just use that to decide if it sounds "good enough" to continue to the next phase and build it on perf.  Usually I can get a pretty good idea of what the final sound is going to be.

The shielded box will tend to squelch' RF ckt interference.
