What kind of component is this?

I recently scrapped an old radio I had laying around and actually found some cool parts that have used in my boxes.  I found a bunch of these components and I don't know what they are. I think they are some sort of capacitor, but I don't know.

The top of the box says "150nK".  The label on the pcb I got it of says "CC24", "CC25", "CC26", etc...

Thanks for your help in advance

Convention creates following, following creates convention.

That a 150nF MKT (film) cap.  Similar in many ways to a greencap of the same value.  The value is always written (often in nF) on the top, together with a code for a voltage rating (K in your example).  They're top quality components.

Awesome, thanks... that would be the same thing as a 0.15 mf right?

Thanks again

brett

Yep.  1nF = 0.001uF (nano is a thousandth of a micro)

if you find units that look like that and they have no 'n' after the value, they are in pF with the following rules:

153 means 15 with 3 zeros following, or 15,000 pF

101 means 10 with 1 zero following, or 100 pF

100 means 10 with zero zeros following, or 10 pF

thanks for that last piece of knowlege, now i know the value of the caps in my parts box
cheers
