Hi,my wahwah makes a scratching noise about half-way the pot`s rotation.
I have used conatct-cleaner but after a while it comes back.
I guess the pot is at its end, isn`t it?
Is there something i can do to repair it?Does any of you knows a affortable replacement?
Thanks in advance,
Ed

There are a number of replacements that you can use. Burns, Dunlop, and Fulltone to name a few. I would just get a replacement. You are looking at around $25-30US

If you want to try and repair it. Go to http://www.geofex.com/
and look for an article on the seceret life of pots.

If it was me I'd get the replacement.

I replace with pot but.
There are alternatives....There's a magnetic wah pot replacement device around here somewhere..and a LED/LDR ckt could possibly be interface where the pot was...these solutions are trickier than replacing the pot with another, but the 'worn out pot' problem will never be an issue again if it's replaced by something with no 'scraping' [moving] parts like a wah pot...

I sell Dunlop Hotpotz II 100k pots with plastic gears for $15 plus shipping.  Seems to be the best price out there right now.

They last a very long time.   The taper is not the same as vintage wah pots, though.  I've got one on my vintage Thomas Organ Cry Baby, and I found that the 'sweet spot' could be opened up and smoothed out with the addition of a 470k resistor between the wiper and the clockwise terminal.

Anyway, here's the page with the pots...

Email me instead of using the shopping cart if you want me to send it via 1st class or airmail instead of Priority Mail; you could save another couple of bucks on postage (if money's a big issue).

Also, Europeans: same thing.  Air mail is cheap to Europe.  :)
