I read here that someone (can't remember for the life of me...) switched the transistors in a Sovtek BMPi for some 2n5089's.  Having a BMPi sov, I thought, 'hey, why not?' and did the switch.  Also, I swapped out my broken tone pot (100k lin, I believe) for a 50k; would this have any effect?
And what should I do with these russian trannies?

I can't remember how the tone pot is wired off hand, but the 50k replacement will just limit the range in one direction. I *think* it means you can't trim as much high end out of the signal, but it could be the other way around...

I think that's what it's doin, but that's ok, High's are good, i have 3 HB pickups in my guitar, and they are all too warm.
