Guys, I know this is way off topic but I always want to share the new stuff.  In one of my posts I mentioned that I designed a light show system for Bob Shade (www.hallmarkguitars.com) for one of his clients (Deke Dickerson).  In turn he built a guitar for my daughter's collection (oldest is 5 the youngest is 3 years old).

The guitar consist of a real Danelectro neck with a dual cut shaped body - the catch is that the body is solid.  The pickkups are dual blade type humbuckers in a single coil size.   The bridge and tailpiece are the Les Paul type.

The action is good and the whole combination gives is a very nice sustain.  I guess I'm going to be doing custom projects for this guy for the rest of my life :-)

:) Classic look, hey this model has potential. Did you design the body concept?

And yes, I could imagine certain type of performers who would be very interested in those custom ligt show stuff

Hey Alf, next time you talk to Deke tell him Jered from "The Doll Hut" says hi. Its a bar I used to work nights at. I've probably seen Deke and his band ten times. Not really my kind of music but what a nice guy, and a HELLUVA player!
Thanks, take care,  Jered

the body shape is the same as the original Danelectro short horn...we simply didn't add a pickguard...the differences are in the tail/bridge, the pickups and the fact that its solid.

Jered, Bob Shade told me that he has gigged at the Doll Hut.  I don't know Deke...I just developed the light show stuff for his guitar...Bob installed it and is Deke's buddy.

Hi Alf,   well if your ever in O.C.  CA. try to squeeze in a few beers at the Doll Hut. Great little roadhouse bar with live original bands every night and $2 Rolling Rocks. Its about a mile north of Disneyland.

A year ago I went to a fiber optics convention (in a "previous life" I was working for a telecom equipment manufacturer) and it was near Disney(Anaheim)....I didn't know anybody so I ended check the local places and used gear stores ...I did go to the Carvin store and spend time playing their guitars thru the Legacy amp...  I noticed that most of their amps were pretty noisy - I guess you have to buy their stuff, retube it and rebias and then it will sound good.  I doubt very much that Steve Vai will use a Legacy right out of the factory.
