I ordered the chip for the MXR noise gate from smallbear recently.  Just curious, what noise gate would you guys think is the best overall quality, and which is the easiest build.  Also, where can I get schematics for these.  I'd like to compare them to the MXR I'm about to build.

You're on a winner with the MXR.  It's as good as, or better than, any that I know of.

I didn't tried another noise gate, but the one in the Q&D Comp II using the SSM2166 IC are great.
