foxx tone machine-no volume

I've built the tone machine twice now and both times and it is just not loud enough, u can just about hear it when u turn up the pedal and the amp all the way.
I've used different types of caps diodes the only thing i've kept the same is the transistors (2N3904) and resistors

IT might be the diodes shunting too much signal to ground. Check your layout/board thoroughly as you might have a short to ground.
