external power supply

i put the begginner NPN boost together yesterday, it boosts my other pedals nicely.
my problem however is a power supply. I built it in an ultra small box (roughly about 1 X 1.5 X 2 inches) and i just cannot fit the battery in there. Can anyone suggest an alternative power supply (preferably external) or point in the right direction to make one?
